Immediate Support with Long-Term Collagen Stimulation
At LumiLife Aesthetics + Wellness, we believe the best aesthetic treatments work with your body’s natural biology. Radiesse® is a unique injectable treatment that provides immediate structural support while also stimulating your body’s own collagen production over time.
Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid fillers that primarily add volume, Radiesse acts as a collagen biostimulator, helping improve skin quality, firmness, and facial or body contour through your body’s natural regenerative processes.
Radiesse is commonly used for facial rejuvenation, hand rejuvenation, jawline definition, and selected body treatments, including our physician-directed LumiLift™ Butt Enhancement program.
What Is Radiesse?
Radiesse is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended within a smooth gel carrier.
The gel provides immediate volume and contour at the time of treatment.
Over the following months, the gel is naturally absorbed while the calcium hydroxylapatite particles stimulate fibroblasts to produce new collagen. As collagen develops, it gradually replaces much of the initial support provided by the gel.
The calcium hydroxylapatite particles are eventually broken down and naturally eliminated by the body.

- Skin quality improvement
When diluted or hyperdiluted, Radiesse may also be used to improve skin texture and firmness in areas such as the neck, décolletage, upper arms, abdomen, thighs, and buttocks in appropriately selected patients.
Before Your Treatment
Proper preparation helps reduce bruising and promotes a smooth recovery.

✔ Eat a light meal before your appointment.
✔ Stay well hydrated.
✔ Arrive with clean skin and minimal makeup.
✔ Inform your physician of all medications, allergies, supplements, and previous injectable treatments.
If Approved by Your Treating Physician
Certain medications and supplements may increase bruising.
After discussing with the physician managing your medications, you may consider temporarily avoiding for approximately 5–7 days before treatment:
- Aspirin
- Ibuprofen
- Naproxen
- Fish oil
- Vitamin E
- Garlic supplements
- Ginkgo biloba
- Ginseng
- Other supplements with blood-thinning effects
Do not discontinue prescription blood thinners unless instructed by the physician who prescribed them.
Alcohol
Avoid alcohol for approximately 24 hours before treatment to reduce the likelihood of bruising.

- Active infection
- Cold sores

- Recent facial surgery
- Recent dental infection
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Bleeding disorders
- Autoimmune disorders
Treatment may be postponed until active infections have completely resolved.
What Happens During Treatment?
Your physician will carefully evaluate your anatomy, discuss your goals, and develop an individualized treatment plan.
After cleansing the treatment area, Radiesse is injected using either a blunt cannula or fine needle, depending on the area being treated.
Depending on your treatment plan, Radiesse may be used:
- At full strength for structural support and contour
- Diluted or hyperdiluted to improve skin quality and stimulate collagen over larger areas
- In combination with other physician-directed regenerative treatments
Treatment generally requires 30–60 minutes.
What Should I Expect After Treatment?
Immediately following treatment you may experience:
- Mild swelling
- Redness
- Bruising
- Tenderness
- Temporary firmness
- Mild asymmetry during healing
These effects usually improve within several days.
Because Radiesse provides immediate support, you will often notice an initial improvement at the time of treatment.
Additional collagen remodeling develops gradually during the following months.

Continued Improvement
As collagen production increases over approximately 2–4 months, many patients notice gradual improvements in skin firmness, texture, and overall tissue quality.
How Long Do Results Last?

Many patients experience improvement lasting approximately 12–18 months, with some patients maintaining results even longer.
Maintenance treatments may be recommended based on your individualized treatment plan.
After Your Treatment
During the First 24 Hours
✔ Stay well hydrated.
✔ Apply cool compresses if needed.
✔ Resume light daily activities.
Avoid During the First 24 Hours
- Vigorous exercise
- Alcohol
- Saunas
- Steam rooms
- Hot tubs
- Excessive heat exposure
Skin Care
Use gentle cleansers and moisturizers.
Avoid harsh exfoliants, retinoids, and irritating skincare products until your physician advises that normal skincare may be resumed.
Facial Treatments
Avoid the following for approximately 2 weeks, unless approved by your physician:
- Microneedling
- Chemical peels
- Laser treatments
- Radiofrequency procedures
- Ultrasound skin tightening
- Deep facial massage
Combination Regenerative Treatments
At LumiLife, Radiesse is often incorporated into comprehensive regenerative treatment plans.
Depending on your treatment goals, it may be combined with:
- PRP
- PRF
- PDO Threads
- Sculptra® (performed in separate treatment plans when appropriate)
- Medical-grade skincare
- Microneedling (performed during separate sessions)

Although complications are uncommon, prompt evaluation allows early treatment if needed.
